Talented actress Jyoti Gauba, who has featured in projects like Ek Hasina Thi, Kavach… Kaali Shaktiyon Se , Badii Devrani, Maat Pitaah Ke Charnon Mein Swarg, Agent Raghav – Crime Branch, Love Marriage Ya Arranged Marriage, Ek Mutthi Aasmaan, Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki, is currently playing the antagonist Anu in Star Plus’ popular drama Imlie.
Talking about the show, Jyoti said, “I feel sheer joy every day when I come on set and get into the character of Anu. I have had a great experience so far. It is very rare that I get to play such characters. Now that I am playing one, every scene that I get, I just enjoy it. One thing I know for sure is that if I enjoy enacting my scenes and dialogues, my viewers too will connect to my character.”
Have you received any backlash on social media for playing this negative character? She shared, “I have always heard about fans attacking the antagonist of a show on social media. However, I have been fortunate enough. I haven’t had such experiences. In fact, most of the fans agree with Anu’s character as they feel that Anu is doing right by fighting for her daughter.”
She further added, “Currently, the grey shade is impressing me more. But I enjoyed my positive character in Rajshri Production’s Zee TV show Piyaa Albela too. In Imlie, audiences will witness a much stronger Anu who will bring an interesting twist in the plot.”
Finally, Jyoti shared a special message for fans. “I want to thank all my fans for the love and acceptance that they are giving to Anu’s character. It is really heartwarming to receive messages about my good performance in this challenging role. We promise to entertain you more.”
