I feel lucky to be playing strong characters that inspire audience: Jiya Shankar

Jiya Shankar the protagonist of &TV’s newest show Meri Hanikarak Biwi talks about her strong portrayal in the show.

Jiya Shankar, who rose to fame with her independent character Shreya in Queens Hai Hum will be again inspiring audience with her new venture Meri Hanikarak Bahu on &TV. The show is being produced by Amir Jaffer and Sonali Jaffer’s Full House Media.

Talking about it, she says, “It is a very unique concept and not a regular daily soap. It has situational comedy. My charcater is very strong. I am like a hero of this show and it also has a strong message to spread.”

“I feel lucky as an actor wherein I get to play such strong characters. I have never been that ‘bholi bhali’ bahu. However, in my career I would like to experience that type of role too. I feel playing an independent character and being an inspiration for others is more fun,” adds Jiya.

Ask her in what way the daily will be spreading a message, and she avers, “I feel people judge a man too soon. I feel the way of judging a man should stop now and people should change their perspective. We are bringing the show and spreading a message in a very light-hearted way. I feel after watching the show people will talk about Nasbandi. It will be in a fun way like how Vicky Donor was. People want to see something different. I think the execution of the show will be the USP of the show.”

Way to go Jiya!!
