Zee TV recently launched a new fiction offering Sanjog. It is a mature family drama about the intricacies of relationships between two very different mothers who belong to very contrasting worlds Amrita and Gauri and their respective daughters.
Set in Jodhpur, Sanjog will trail the journeys of these two mothers who are unable to figure out why their daughters are so different from their own selves. Talented actress Shefali Sharma, who is best known for her portrayal of Bani Parmeet Bhullar in Bani – Ishq Da Kalma and Dr. Ria Maheshwari in Tum Aise Hi Rehna, will be seen playing the sophisticated and kind-hearted Amrita, an affluent jewellery designer.
Talking about her role, she said, “I am thankful to the makers for giving me this opportunity to play a distinct role like Amrita. I am very excited to play the role of Amrita, she has these unique characteristics of sophistication and kindness. She is a homemaker but at the same time has built her jewellery business with her husband. The best part about this role to me is getting the chance to play a mother for the first time. I am very excited and nervous about it.”
Further, she added, “Amrita has striking similarities with my personality. Having said that, in real life, I am not a mother yet. So I am preparing to fit into the role. Every day, I try to perform to the best of my abilities. I hope that I will be able to do justice to my character as she has very unique qualities.”
When asked if it is difficult to shoot with kids, she mentioned, “These kids who are in the show are very smart. Hence, so far, I have not faced any difficulty. Also, I gel up well with kids. Hence, I am enjoying shooting with the kids.”
