Sonakshi Batra the young and talented actress is a quick learner for sure!! With a strong theatre background backing her, she is doing a great job in her Hindi TV show Nima Denzongpa. Sonakshi who plays the role of Manya, daughter of Suresh and Nima is happy with the graph she has seen of her character in the show.
Says Sonakshi, “I am happy and excited with how my character graph has shaped up in Nima Denzongpa. Manya is an assertive character who will go by what her mind tells her. She has a love life too now, with Paras coming into her life. It will be interesting to see how the story shapes up.”
Sonakshi who has earlier been part of the ZEE5 film 14 Phere has been in love with the art of acting. “From childhood, I have always aspired to become an actor. I have grown up watching Bollywood, Punjabi movies and also the movies down South. I have dreamt of following this path of acting and finally it has happened.”
Sonakshi who is a Delhiite tasted her first success with 14 Phere. “When TV offers started coming, I really felt I should give it a try. When I bagged Nima Denzongpa, I was extremely happy.”
The young actress gels well with the other ladies in the show. “Surabhi who plays my mother, and the ones playing my onscreen siblings, we all have a gala time on set. We are all of the same age, so we engage a lot in talking and making fun reels when we are free.”
Tell her if it feels awkward when Surabhi who is almost her age, plays her mother and she states, “Yes, initially, it was a point for us to talk about. Surabhi is like our sister. We are more like friends and sisters on the set. However, with time, the awkwardness has gone. Also, onscreen too, the mother-daughter bond has been more on a friendly note. So we enjoy every bit of it, both onscreen as well as off the screen.”
Sonakshi has big aspirations of making it well in Bollywood. “As I said earlier, I have grown up watching films. I will want to walk that path in my life someday. I am working towards it.”
Best of luck, Sonakshi!!
