Actor Naveen Pandita who entertained viewers playing a very different character in ALTBalaji’s successful web-series Gandii Baat, is presently part of Star Bharat’s show Jiji Maa (Jay Productions).
He is seen in the role of Karma, the lover of Piyali (Charu Asopa).
Says Naveen, “I would have done anything to get this role in Jiji Maa. It is a very challenging character. I have a very chocolatey face, and I have been offered only positive roles till now in my career. So this is a good break for me.”
Naveen excelled in his character of a Bihari guy in Gandii Baat. “Gandii Baat experience was a good learning curve for me. Being a North Indian, I played my Bihari character really well. This character gave me the confidence that I can play any given role. This is when I started experimenting with the roles I picked up,” he states.
After Gandii Baat, Naveen has featured in the films Trippy Trip which was premiered in the Jaagaran Film Festival and Mumbai Dreams which was featured in MAMI Film Festival.
Talking about his negative character in Jiji Maa, Naveen quips, “This is a bipolar character and I am having fun playing it. When you do a negative role, you have the freedom of performing it in the way you perceive it. Above all, it was a challenge to play the negative role in Jiji Maa. The show already has two established negative ladies and to stand beside them was a challenge in itself. My track is coming up well and I am happy with it.”
Naveen Pandita who was last seen in Dil Sambhal Jaa Zara states, “For me, the time duration of a role is not that important as the scope for performance is. Jiji Maa is a good platform to showcase my talent.”
