Sunning beauty Vivana Singh, who is known for her role of Simonika in the popular show Kumkum Bhagya, recently stepped into the shoes of Tannaz Irani to play Maharani Rajeshwari in Zee TV’s Apna Time Bhi Aayega.
Be it her elegant style, royal mannerisms or her cunning mind that is constantly planning something evil, the character of Rajeshwari has received a lot of love from the audience since day one. Vivana feels thrilled to join the cast as Rajeshwari. In an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz.com, the actress spoke about replacing Tannaz, new challenges, bond with actors and more.
Excerpt:
How does it feel to be a part of the show?
It feels amazing. I have mostly played young negative lead roles till date, but this character offers me something very different. To be honest, Rajeshwari is a very different and challenging role in comparison to some of the bubbly characters I have portrayed earlier. There is a strong flavour of motherhood and class that I have to bring to my role and for that, I have been consciously working towards it. I understand it takes a while for the audience to accept a new face as well but I am giving my 1000% and I am sure the audience will eventually love my work too.
How will you make Rajeshwari stand out in your own way?
I am working extremely hard to ensure this character receives the same amount of love that it did before. In fact, I have also been using my own personal experiences of negative roles to understand what not to do or bring to this role considering there is a lot of dignity, poise, and royalty to be maintained with her. From interacting with my actors in a certain style to ensuring I have the perfect posture and expression, I am doing every bit to make sure I do complete justice to this character. I am hoping the audience will love me in this role.
Do you feel it is risky for an actor to come in as a replacement?
I feel if you are stepping in place of someone who has already played a particular character, there is always a risk and pressure that you have to deal with. The character has been established in their style and the audience has accepted them as the face of that character. So, yes, I do feel the risk associated with it but having said that, I am being extremely careful when my performance is concerned. The goal is definitely to recreate the same aura of Rajeshwari with viewers.
How is your bonding with the cast?
I have received a very warm welcome from all the actors and crew members of the show. Initially, I was a bit skeptical about being able to bond with the entire team, but they have been nothing but pleasantly nice to me. In fact, I have become great friends with Sangeeta Adhikari. It feels like I have been accepted as a part of a large family and I am grateful for the kind and warm support that people have provided me with.
What do you enjoy playing a negative or positive character?
I enjoy playing both, negative and positive characters equally. Undoubtedly, the experience with both has been an enriching and exciting one.
Any particular challenges you faced during your journey as an actor?
There have been no particular challenges that I have faced along the way as I was always very clear about what I am looking at, what my plan is. I also strongly believe that whatever opportunity comes knocking at my door and can possibly change my life, should be wholeheartedly accepted.
Do you have any role models in life?
Sakshi Tanwar is my favourite. The variety of acts that she has delivered is an inspiration in itself. I have a lot of respect for her body of work and the range as an actor.
Finally, your message to your fans
I am thrilled to be a part of Apna Time Bhi Aayega and I would request all the fans to keep showering their love on us. We promise to entertain you. I would also want to tell them to stay safe and healthy.
Good luck Vivana!
