God bless those who are trying to malign our image unnecessarily: Divyanka Tripathi on Nach Baliye 8

The actress tears into naysayers trying to negate their good effort

Nach Baliye season 8 is heating up as the show reaches its tail end and tensions are getting rife off screen as well.

Divyanka Tripathi and hubby Vivek Dahiya are among the top contenders, winning audience votes and judges’ recognition, however there are some who do feel that this couple gets away by resorting to stuff apart from core dance.  A contestant on grounds of anonymity said “that they dance less and depend more on personal chemistry and mass appeal to win votes”.

When Indianwikimedia connected with Divyanka (also the female lead in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein) she rubbished the allegations saying, “Kuchh to log kahenge…logoka kaam hai kehna. We are working hard on our performances each time. There is no playing safe and we are giving lots of variations. We also ask for votes like every other celeb. What are the other ways one can resort to I don’t know. We have had a great journey. Our family, friends and fans can see our growth and their love means everything to us. God bless those who are drawing conclusions and trying to malign our images unnecessarily.”

Talking about the format she says, “It is a nice and ethical game show. Thankfully, the makers (BBC Worldwide) are not playing on scripted and false dramas. Their research work into contestants’ lives is quite effective.”

She continues, “As a contestant it’s satisfactory not to be a part of any falsehood. I know I’m a part of a reality show where things are ‘real’. Audience must be enjoying as they are being given quality entertainment, good enough for family viewing.”

We wish the Jodi a successful stint ahead in the series.
