16 year Anuskha Sen who plays the title role in Colors’ Khoob Ladi Mardani Jhansi Ki Rani has no qualms about romancing a much older man on screen. She is paired opposite Vikas Manaktala who plays her husband Gangadhar Rao.
Says Anushka, “We are depicting history and in real life Manikarnika did get married to an older man. The creative had told us about this at the very beginning, but we were assured that the love would be shown as very pure. I fully trust them as Contiloe Films are past masters of the historical genre.”
Anushka has earlier done shows such as ‘Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev’ and ‘Baal Veer as a child artist.
Anushka shares great off screen chemistry with Vikas, “Since we have great tuning, there are no issues during the shoot; above all, both of us are extremely professional. I equally get along well with all other cast members including Rajesh Shringarpure , who plays my father.”
Looking ahead, Anushka would be game for web series too. “I love the new digital format as it offers varied stories.”
