Talented actress Ishita Ganguly who started her career with Shastri Sisters has indeed come of age playing challenging roles in the mythological and historical series on TV.

Some of her finest performances have been in Peshwa Bajirao, Prithvi Vallabh – Itihaas Bhi, Rahasya Bhi, Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gaatha, Shrimad Bhagwat Mahaouran and Jag Janani Maa Vaishno Devi – Kahani Mata Rani Ki.

She is now winning hearts as Draupadi in Star Bharat and Swastik Productions’ popular show Radhakrishn.

Says Ishita, “I am privileged to play the very powerful character of Draupadi. Also, the new chapter in Radhakrishn is all about Krishn-Arjun Gaatha which will open up the story of Kauravs and Pandavs. I am really fortunate to play this role. I will rather say that this character of Draupadi has chosen me for the role.”

“A lot of work is going into the characterization of every character. The bond between Krishn and Draupadi of Sakha and Sakhi and then the Arjun- Draupadi bond are going to be shown. I am quite happy as this is going to be a long journey. Also I have been getting good response and feedback for the role,” Ishita states.

Tell her that in a short span of time, she has played many varied characters, all being different and Ishita tells us, “Yes, I am quite blessed for this. I have been conscious when I pick my roles. I have played many kinds of roles from the positive to negative, and have covered many genres. As an actor I am happy that I have got the opportunity to play different shades. For me story is the main lead and how my character will evolve in the narrative is really important.”

Ishita who started her career in 2014 is presently in her ninth show. “I had heard a lot about Swastik Productions. And now I am happy to be working with them. The whole team is so amazing. And when it comes to mytho shows, the production house has set benchmarks. Above all, Radhakrishn is extremely popular.”

“The spirit within the team to do the best even in these trying conditions amid the COVID scare is really amazing. We are all motivated to give the best to the show. Shooting amid the social distancing norms is indeed a challenge and we are putting in our efforts. We are working a lot on our performances.”
