Versatile actor Angad Hasija is presently seen in a very different role in the Sony SAB show Pashminna. He is filled with positivity and optimism with Diwali coming.
Says the actor, “Diwali is a name that brings a smile to everyone’s faces as we get ready to celebrate in Indian attire, perform rituals, and attend Diwali parties. However, this year, my Diwali will be a bit different as I won’t be able to attend any parties. I am currently shooting in Kashmir, and I had to decline all my friends’ party invitations. Nevertheless, I will definitely visit my family in Chandigarh and celebrate with them.”
“For me, Diwali signifies a new beginning, not just in a materialistic sense with cleaning, decorating, and lighting up our homes, but also on a spiritual level. It’s an opportunity to cleanse our inner thoughts and make positive changes. We should strive to light up the inner lamp of positivity and guide others towards a better path, which is why Diwali holds great importance for me.”
Talking about the celebration of Diwali in his house, Angad explains, “In our family, Diwali is a grand affair with extensive decorations involving flowers and more. It takes me a few days to decorate the entire house in Chandigarh because my family is quite passionate about celebrating Diwali. We also perform the traditional Lakshmi Puja, and it is quite an elaborate and busy day. Of course, we all dress in traditional Indian attire.”
“This year, it will be more about a cozy family celebration for me, missing the usual visits to friends’ homes and card parties. But I am looking forward to indulging in Indian sweets, which I absolutely adore. I usually stick to a strict diet, but Diwali is my cheat day, and I plan to relish all the sweets. I’ve already given my family a list of sweets I want them to prepare,” Angad adds.
“I also advocate for an eco-friendly Diwali and believe that while a few fireworks may be okay for tradition’s sake, it is not necessary to have an extravagant display. Many people now realize the importance of spending quality time with family and keeping the celebrations simple,” states Angad.
Wishing all a very Happy Diwali!!
