I am happy to be playing a male-centric character in an otherwise female dominated industry: Mohammad Nazim

Mohammad Nazim who plays the antagonist in Colors’ Udaan talks about his character and its importance and much more.

Mohammad Nazim, who rose to fame as Aham in Saath Nibhana Saathiya, has recently entered Colors’ popular daily Udaan as a strong and powerful character.

The actor feels that Indian TV serials are mostly about women power and that men get fewer opportunities to explore as actors.

He says, “The character of Ghumaan Singh that I am playing in Udaan, is one of the rarest strong male characters on TV. Although I have worked as a lead in the show, people must be thinking I took a wrong decision to enter a show mid-way. I feel it is the correct choice. I am happy to be playing a male-centric character in an otherwise female dominated industry. Men get delegated to being show pieces standing somewhere in the background in a scene. But this character allows me to do every possible thing. It will also helps me improve my career and acting graph.”

He adds, “I feel lucky to be one of the few male actors who got to be the focus point. I know audience will take time to accept me as a rude and shrewd character after loving me as Aham but I would just give them examples of Bollywood actors like Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor, who experiment with their roles.”

But Nazim surely has a reason to smile as his fans continue showering their love on him. “I feel blessed that they love and support me so much. Somewhere down the line my identity is surely connected to their love and prayers. It gives immense pleasure and satisfaction to have so many by your side,” smiles the actor.

Good luck boy!
