Sikandar Kharbanda who is playing the aggressive and ruthless terrorist in Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2 on Star Plus is happy that his role and character has appealed to viewers.
Says Sikandar, “When I signed up for Saathiya 2, I was told that my role was a cameo of 10-12 days. I had to enter as the soft-spoken Professor who would later turn out to be the main terrorist. Later, the revelation was to happen with my track ending. However, when it started, people liked the role and track so much that it was extended. Now, I am very much excited that the character I play has got a lot of meat. He is shown to be notorious to the extent of flying off with the protagonist Gehna in a chopper.”
It was a challenge of sorts for Sikandar to change swiftly from the soft Professor role to the ruthless terrorist once the truth was out. “Yes, that phase was tough. Initially, the Professor was so white that I had to bring about a drastic change in my behaviour and facial expressions when I was shown as a terrorist. But I must tell you that the response that I have received from audiences has been wonderful. I am happy that I am accepted in this negative avatar.”
Sikandar has most of his scenes with actor Manas Adhiya who plays the role of Sagar. “Sagar was the main villain in the show. Now, he is shown to be aiding me in my plan. It is exciting to shoot scenes with him. Initially, I had the scope of shooting with Anant, Gehna and the entire family when I was shown as the Professor. I am enjoying this ride in Saathiya 2.”
