I am happy to be working with Zee TV for the first time in my career: Shweta Mahadik

Actress Shweta Mahadik will for the first time be part of the Zee TV family with the upcoming show, Guddan…Tumse Na Ho Paega produced by Ved Raj’s Shoonya Square Productions.

Shweta who has essayed challenging roles in Colors’ shows Balika Vadhu, Krishndasi, Ek Shringaar – Swabhimaan will play the eldest daughter-in-law out of the three, who will go out in search for their mother-in-law.

Says Shweta, “I signed up for Guddan mainly for two reasons. The first one being that this will be my first show on Zee TV in my career spanning 13 years. The other reason being that I play one of the main lead characters in the show. Also, after playing motherly characters in my earlier two outings, I get to play a role closer to my age. And what more do I need? Actually, girls of my age get typecast into a category and keep getting similar kind of roles. So it is a big relief to get out of the mother roles here (smiles).”

Talking about the show and role, Shweta avers, “This is a light-hearted drama with an element of comedy. The concept is very new in TV. Though it will appear to be a comedy show by face value, it will have drama amidst light-hearted situations. I play the role of the eldest dauhghter-in-law in the family, by name Durga. I am the straight, responsible and strict bahu in the house.”

Shweta says that the girls on the show literally set the house on fire. “We have bonded so well. Rashmi Gupta, Sehrish Ali who play the other daughters-in-law in the house are very nice. We get on so very well. Our bonding will surely reflect on screen. Kanika Mann is a very good actress. Nishant Malkani is a no-nonsense kind of an actor who focuses on work. So we have a good ensemble cast. We are all set to rock the show.”

On her expectations, she states, “I want viewers to enjoy the show. This is a total entertainment package and we are looking forward to bring on the fun.”

Best of luck, Shweta!!
