Today, on August 15 we completed 75 years of India’s independence from British rule. The day reminds the country’s citizens of all the sacrifices our freedom fighters made to secure India’s future. Karuna Pandey, who essays the role of Pushpa in Sony SAB’s Pushpa Impossible, got candid about Independence Day with IWMBuzz.
She said, “Firstly, a very happy Independence day to all! This day holds a special significance for me not just because my father was in the army and courageously served the nation with immense discipline, but also because I was brought up this way. Every year on this day, we hoisted the flag and sang patriotic songs.”
“Patriotism for me is to take pride in the diverse cultures of our beautiful nation; for our flag to spread the message of peace across the world. I believe that we shouldn’t shy away from appreciating the glory of India, and strive towards betterment for all. I pledge to be a responsible citizen, convey the courageous history of our nation to all; serve the needy to the best of my abilities, and fulfill a new promise for the nation’s advancement every day. Jai Hind!”
