#HappyIndependenceDay: Poverty and unemployment are two issues that need to be addressed: Sharad Malhotra

Sharad Malhotra the popular actor has his clear thoughts on Independent India and talks about it on the occasion of Independence Day.

Another year has passed by in the glorious run that India has had from the time it got its independence, after waging a war against British rule. Of course, the Nation might be having a testing time right now, as it is trying to stop the rise of the Covid-19 pandemic, but the patriotism in each and every citizen of India never gives up on the hope that we have. As India celebrates its 75th Independence Day on 15 August 2021, we have our own television industry getting into a patriotic fervour. Popular actor Sharad Malhotra who was last seen in Naagin 5 and will be seen in Star Plus’ upcoming show Vidrohi in the lead role, talks about his thought on Independent India.

For Sharad, Independence means, “It is about doing what you want to, without worrying about anything.”

Sharad who has played the role of the famous freedom fighter Maharana Pratap on TV loves the patriotic song Rang De Basanti which, according to him, instils the real essence of patriotism in every citizen of India.

Ask him about how vocal he is when it comes to the welfare of his country and Sharad exclaims, “I am very vocal about what I feel for my Nation and its welfare. Poverty and unemployment are the two important issues that need to be addressed. India is a progressive nation. At this stage, we need to fight the pandemic.”

On his favourite freedom fighter, Sharad points out “Bhagat Singh”.

On the changes that he will want to see as a citizen in Independent India, Sharad is quick to say, “I would like to see people have better employment opportunities.”

Wishing a very Happy Independence Day to all out here!!
