India celebrates its 75th Independence on 15 August 2021. The nation gears up to appreciate and applaud the fight of every single freedom fighter in helping India getting its Independence. Even today, our frontline workers have been toiling day and night to safeguard our nation from the widespread pandemic. Neil Bhatt the talented actor who plays the lead of the Star Plus show Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin speaks about his clear thoughts on India’s Independence.
Says Neil, “Independence for me is freedom without the afterthought of fear. Fear of exercising the right to freedom that our freedom fighters gave their lives for.”
Talking about his patriotic fervour, Neil expresses, “I am a proud Indian. But I would like to believe that I am a balance of patriotic and pragmatic. I don’t want to sound hypocritical and say I’m the most patriotic person in our country. I believe in doing whatever I can to make sure our country’s integrity and values remain intact.”
“The song that rouses patriotism for me is “AE MERE VATAN KE LOGON” and “VANDE MATARAM” by the great LATA MANGESHKAR ji,” quips Neil.
Ask him about his favourite freedom fighter and Neil stresses, “Freedom fighters are not actors/entertainers that we should have favourites. I have immense respect and look up to each and every one of them. Because of their sacrifice, we are seeing a free India today.”
“I would like to see more Independence in the sense, in every field or industry, we as citizens of this country should prefer to use the Indian products. VOCAL FOR LOCAL is the way.”
Way to go, Neil!!
Happy Independence Day, to all our readers!!
