Hope Anurag-Prerna romance works again in Kasautii Zindagii Kay: Shubhavi Choksey

Shubhavi Choksey, aka Mohini Basu of Star Plus show Kasautii Zindagii Kay, accepts that the exit of Karan Singh Grover will affect the show. “Not only him, if anybody quits or enters any show, it does have an impact.”

“Personally as well, I do miss him and Hina Khan as friends. Unlike other actors, I don’t end equations once working together ends. I have been like this with all with my previous co-stars. For example, not a birthday has gone by that Sakshi Tanwar and I have not wished each other.”

Shubhavi thinks that it would be unfair to place the entire onus of the show now going forward again only on Parth Samthaan and Erica Fernandes. “Any show’s success depends not only on the cast, but also on the entire technical and back office staff as well.”

“Having said that, Annu and Prerna’s romance has been the leitmotif of the show ever since it first went on air. Fingers crossed, and hope it works again.”

Talking about her multifaceted character, she says, “I am grateful to Balaji for having given me a lot of screen space, with stuff to do. I am grey, black and white in one show. They have presented Mohini Basu in a superb way.”

Shubhavi refused to speculate on what will happen next. “I know a bit, but it is better that you watch it unfold on screen.”

Point out that the ratings have gone down, and she says, “Numbers are like the Sensex, which keeps having bullish and bearish trends. That does not mean we stop putting in our best.”

Asked about fan wars between Parth and KSG fans which get nasty, she says, “Over time, they will soon realize who was the real winner. Luckily for me, fans have never crossed the line; while they hate Mohini, they love Shubhavi.”

Looking ahead, she is open to more web series after a cameo in ALTBalaji’s Medically Yours. “So far, despite all efforts and prayers (smiles), I have not got any more projects. I have got a few TV projects, which I can’t take up due to paucity of time. I am also looking for films, theatre, and yes, Broadway.”
