Popular actress Aditi Sharma who enthralled one and all in the complex role of Dua in Zee TV’s Rabb Se Hai Dua, is back to fiction. Aditi who honed a lot of courage and skill recently during her participation in Colors’ Khatron Ke Khiladi, is happy to be playing the titular role in the Colors show Apollena – Sapno Ki Unchi Udann.
In an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz.com, Aditi talks about the show, working with Colors and 4 Lions Films and sees this as the best opportunity to prove her talent in this unique role.

You were selected and were re-selected again for the titular role in Apollena, is what we know. Tell us what happened?
Yes, I was locked and was supposed to start shooting. However, things turned out differently and I was not supposed to do the show. However, the role came back to me after a while. I believe that whatever is meant for you comes back to you. So I decided to take it up and worked on the role. This time, the character was back with a bigger bang. I am happy to be playing the astronaut’s character. This is something that television has not offered before. It excites me to be executing the part and am honoured too.
How is it to bag this prized role eventually?
As I told you, I was destined to bag this role. I am happy and it is an overwhelming feeling as we are all set for the launch of the show.
What are the kinds of preparations needed for this role of Apollena?
As Apollena, I had to be in perfect shape. She is an intelligent girl. The creative aspect of the character has been taken care of by the writer and the creatives. The physical strength that Apollena exudes has been taken care of by me. I would say that Khatron Ke Khiladi helped me to get fitter in my mind and body for this role. You have seen heroes working out on screen. But you will see this girl working out and looking in perfect shape in this show.
A very endearing concept but a tough one to execute. What is your take on playing this tough role?
Colors is a wonderful channel which strives hard to bring in the differentiator in terms of concept. This show is surely different from the usual. 4 Lions Films is an amazing production house to associate with. I have to say that I am in the best of hands. Writers, creatives and directors are working hard on this concept. It is fun to work with this team.
Nothing comes easily in this industry. You have to always put your best foot down. I have been training myself to play the character effectively. What you will see on screen is a complete team effort.
Is a lot of graphics or VFX work involved in this show?
Well, there is nothing much initially, as she is just shown to be aspiring to be an astronaut. As you have seen in the promos, her father is her mentor. She is a small-town girl with big aspirations and a determination to fulfil them too. Yes, once she gets into the career line of becoming a space scientist, I guess, that is when the graphics will come into play.
What is the most endearing attribute of Apollena that you want to emulate?
Apollena is hard-working and stubborn in her thoughts to achieve what she has set out for. When the whole world tries to pull her down, she is shown as a person who wants to pursue her dream. I want to emulate this quality of hers in my real life. As an actor, it will not be easy for me to play her. Like Apollena, Aditi will also work hard to achieve her goals in life.
How has the reaction of fans been towards this role of yours?
The reactions coming have been overwhelming. People are excited to see something different on TV. And we are happy that Apollena falls in that unique bracket. After Rabb Se Hai Dua and Khatron Ke Khiladi, fans will see me in an all-new role. The story has all that is needed to keep it interesting.
What will be your learning curve with this show and role?
Every show teaches you something. I like to learn everyday from someone or the other. I love to learn. I have yet to discover the learning curve as such from this show. However, this is a new dialect that I am attempting. So that is interesting for me. Also, viewers will like the father and daughter bond in the show. It is inspiring to the core.
