Young actress Sehaj Rajput who is a professional dancer, and knows the ins and outs of ballet, jazz and other contemporary forms of dancing, has got her first big break on television. She plays the role of the parallel lead Unnati in Zee TV’s newly launched show, Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile. Produced by Rose Audio Visuals, the show deals with the aata saata marriage custom still prevalent across parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. In this unique arrangement, a daughter from one family marries a son from another, while the groom’s sister weds the bride’s brother, creating strong family ties based on mutual obligation.

Sehaj is enjoying being part of the show and aims to utilize her first big break on TV as a stepping stone to bigger successes.

Says Sejal, “Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile has started well to a good response. Playing Unnati is a big responsibility as she is a chirpy and bubbly character who goes through many layers as time progresses. As you can see, the story starts with Unnati being raised in a rich and protected household. Her brother Raghav has always been a shield to her. However, with time, Unnati will have her own journey, where she will move out of her comfort zone after marriage.”

“As an actor, this is my first big break on TV. Unnati is a very significant character in the whole plot of the storyline, as you know. Unnati will face real life after marriage, which will be a big change for her,” adds the actor.

Sehaj was keen to grab her first big opportunity when she got the role of Unnati. “We have had a lot of readings and workshops for the show. I am eager to make a place in the industry as an actor. The feeling is like, ‘I want the piece of cake and eat it too.’ Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile set is a great place to work in. We have a nice vibe on the set. Working alongside a veteran actor like Jayati Bhatia Ma’am is the best part. I get to learn so much from her.”

Sehaj gels well with Bharat Ahlawwat and Ayushi Khurana and enjoys being in their company. “We have been together from the start of the workshops. We enjoy time together when we are not shooting. We engage in enjoyable banter on the set.”

Sehaj looks forward to the story progression where her character will go through a lot of varied emotions. “The consequences of the marriage will be a new phase for Unnati. Over the period of time, there will be a lot of emotional graphs that the character will go through. All of it gives me a good scope to perform. I look forward to the challenge.”

Best of luck!!
