Bong beauty Megha Chakraborty, who rose to fame with &TV’s Badi Devrani, will now reprise the role of Mastani on small screen.
The thespian, who will play the second wife of Maratha emperor Bajirao in Sony Entertainment Television’s Peshwa Bajirao, says that she is really excited for her new project.
Sharing her excitement with Indianwikimedia, Megha says, “I am thrilled and really happy to be part of such a wonderful show. I am really looking forward to play the role Mastani as it’s different from the regular saas-bahu saga.”
When we ask what preparation she had done for the role, she avers, “I have started riding a horse and the team is also teaching me sword fighting. It is difficult to learn those heavy Urdu words but I am trying my best. My look in the show is royal so I need to work on my attitude and expressions. I need to get that grace which Mastani had. However, I am a trained Kathak dancer so I am relieved from this situation. It is a very challenging role.”
Megha further shares that she is not aware about Mastani’s story apart from what the movie has shown. “I have seen the movie Bajirao Mastani so I know only that much story which was depicted in the film. Now, on set, I am learning and exploring new things about her,” ends Megha.
