How do you feel about your debut on Hindi TV?
I feel really happy about my debut on Hindi TV. Sony TV is a great platform to begin my journey on Hindi TV. I got a call from the team saying there is a casting opportunity. I really liked the way the script was narrated, and the way the character was explained to me. They asked to send me an audition clip and I did the same. I got a call from the team for the second audition. They also did my look test. Finally, I was selected to play the part. I am grateful to the team and makers for this opportunity.
Any special preparation to play the character?
Parvati’s character is very interesting to portray because her morals are starkly different from mine. We belong to two different periods in time and so being a 21st-century woman, adapting to the belief system of someone from the 18th century was difficult. Of course, I did my homework, as being an actor, I need to adapt to roles like water. So, to understand Parvati’s psyche, I had to first let go of my inhibitions about being able to portray a historical character. As I learnt more about the period, the women of ancient India, how families worked, I started to understand Parvati better.
How is your bond with your team on set?
The bond with the team is great. All the cast was very welcoming. From day one, they made me very comfortable. The extremely friendly cast members helped me through my shortcomings and thus, helped me bring Parvati to life. I had fun shooting with the team.
Being a debutant, do you have any pressure?
Of course, there is pressure when you are a debutant. Also, the pressure was more here because Punyashlok Ahilyabai is already an ongoing show and people really love Ahilya. I am a little nervous and under pressure to keep it up. I hope that people like my character and accept me.
Who is your inspiration in life?
My inspiration in life are my parents. They have worked really hard to be where they are. I get inspired by the way they shaped their lives.
Tell us a little bit about your journey?
I have been a theatre artist. However, I always wanted to do TV. I have been giving auditions for quite some time now. But things never happened the way I wished. Having said that, I feel all the wait was worth it as this show is really great. I am thankful.
Any dream roles?
I have always wanted to play a historical character. I am fortunate enough that in my debut show only I got to play a historical role. I feel blessed and glad about the same. I want to explore as an actor. Hence, I would like to try different roles during the course of my journey as an actor.
Any final message
I really hope that viewers enjoy my performance on television. I hope the loyal fandom accepts me and showers upon me their love and blessings. I will continue to work hard for the role and the show.
