Manika Mehrotra, who is currently entertaining the masses as Shweta in the Sony Sab show Sab Satrangi, returned to the show with a bang. However, the actress was initially skeptical about making a comeback.
She said: “I was initially scared to return as audiences love Mannu and Gargi. I suddenly thought that when Shweta would enter the show and try to break their relationship, then fans might not like it. They will hate my character. I am glad that they welcomed me with open arms. I shot a dance sequence with Mannu. It was appreciated by fans. They really loved our dance and chemistry in the show. I am really happy with the way my character is shaping up in the daily.”
Talking about playing a negative role on-screen, she added, “I feel a positive character is easy to essay as you are playing yourself on-screen but when it comes to being negative, you have to think out of the box. You have to think evil and act accordingly. However, Shweta’s character is very unpredictable. It is an absolute pleasure to play a character like this one who knows what she wants and just goes for it. She never thought that she would fall in love with Mannu. However, she is in love so now, her motives have changed. She wants Mannu back in her life.”
Manika further revealed her wish of essaying a realistic role, “Now, I have explored a negative role. But in my next project, I would like to portray a girl who is strong, and independent. A girl who is ambitious, who can manage personal and professional life amazingly. I want to essay someone who is realistic,” ended the actress.
