Kaveri Priyam, the young actress is presently winning hearts as the outspoken Monami in Sony SAB show Ziddi Dil Maane Na, produced by Sunshine Productions. Earlier seen as Kuhu in Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, Kaveri has been a delight to watch in the roles donned so far.
In a candid conversation with IWMBuzz.com, Kaveri talks about her role in Ziddi Dil Maane Na and more.
You look too cute in Ziddi Dil Maane Na. Tell us the secret.
Thank you so much for the compliment. It means a lot (smiles). I feel it is the Monami effect. Monami is very cute. That’s the main reason why I look cute onscreen.
You always work a lot on your hairstyle. This one too is unique. What is your personal favourite?
I think on TV, we usually don’t explore much with our look. But I am very lucky till now, as with the two shows I have got, I have got the opportunity to explore and experiment with my looks and hairstyle. The right kind of look helps you get into the skin of the character, is what I believe in. Thanks to the creative team of Ziddi Dil Maane Naa and Seema Ma’am (Sudhir) for giving me this hairstyle. It adds to the personality and traits of Monami.
Having said this, talking about my favourite hairstyle, it is very hard to choose one. I used to love my curls when I played Kuhu. Even now, I am totally in love with my hairstyle as Monami (smiles).
Tell us about your role in the show?
Monami is a very loving, generous and kind-hearted girl. She is very empathetic. She loves and cares about people around her, be it, anyone. She is also headstrong, never gives up easily. Even though she has traits of getting intimidated easily, and has a problem putting across her mind, she comes across as a cute personality. Her dreams are very clear and wants to fight to overcome her obstacles. Above all, she wants to serve the Nation and be like her mother who was an Army Doctor. She is in the process of doing that. She is very emotional too. She cannot see anything wrong happening around her.
Above all, people do not understand Monami well. They misinterpret her while the fact is that she is too lonely. That is why she befriends trees. This is a rare trait that Monami possesses.
How has the audience response been?
The response has been very good. All my fans message me daily, stating how they can connect to the character.
What are your expectations from the show?
I wanted to do a lot of stunts. I wanted to try something that I have not done before. I am getting to do stunts; action sequences are coming every day and I am loving it.
Who are your favourite costars in the show?
I can’t name one person from the cast. It is a pleasure working with all of them.
Is there a dream role that you look at?
Every role is a dream role, as I get the chance to live someone else’s life. It is said that an actor lives a thousand lives in one life. This is one thing I admire about my profession.
