Simple Kaul, who is best known for her performance in the evergreen TV show Shararat is happy to be back to acting again!! She essays the role of Koel in Sony SAB’s newest offering, Ziddi Dil Maane Na, which is produced by Seema and Sudhir Sharma’s Sunshine Productions.
Says Simple, “Once an actor, always an actor they say!! A good role like this one in Ziddi Dil Maane Na made me get back to TV (smiles). I was happily occupied with my restaurants. But I knew that whenever something interesting comes up, I will take it. So here I am!!. Also, I wanted to work with the Production house, Sunshine Productions. They offered me a very sensible role, something that I had not done before.”
Ask Simple about the secret to her never-ageing beauty, and she answers us with a smile, “I think it is just staying happy, and not staying with stressful energy. Add a little bit of work out to this formula, and you tend to look young. Actually, when I got to know that I have bagged this show, I started to control my food intake and also got into regular workout.”
Talking about her restaurants and her entrepreneur stint, Simple exclaims, “Being an entrepreneur and being an actor are two different things. I am only growing more in the field of my business. I got into restaurants as I wanted to have a parallel career. The journey has been very good. The restaurant life is very laidback, you do not have deadlines that an actor goes through. Setting up a restaurant is very hectic. But once it starts working, the load is very less. The restaurant life has given me a lot of creative satisfaction.”
“I never felt I was away from media. Everyone from the industry used to come to our restaurant. Practically, we used to meet everybody there. I am happy to be in the best of company, with my partners at work. We blend really well,” she adds on her association with Addite Malik and Mohit Malik.
Getting back to Ziddi Dil Maane Na and the role, Simple quips, “I play Koel, who is a no-nonsense person, very reserved, manipulative and harsh from the outside, but has a heart with varied emotions inside. My character has gone through a very dramatic journey. She has been in a physically abusive marriage. She is a fighter and survivor.”
