Renowned senior actress Jayati Bhatia, affectionately recognized in the television industry as ‘Mataji’ from the popular series Sasural Simar Ka 2, is currently captivating audiences in a strikingly different role. She portrays Sharda Suryavanshi in Zee TV’s new drama, Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile. This intriguing show delves into the complexities of the Aata Sata system, exploring marriage dynamics between two families and their respective siblings. The series has already garnered a commendable response from viewers, showcasing its compelling narrative. In her role as Sharda, Jayati embodies a powerful character who stands at the heart of the unfolding drama. As the bua, she becomes a pivotal figure in the intricate web of conflicts that arise between the couples, making her character not just significant but essential to the storyline. Through her performance, Jayati brings depth and nuance to Sharda’s formidable presence, highlighting the challenges and tensions that define the relationships within the show.

We at IWMBuzz.com get into an exclusive conversation with Jayati Bhatia in which she describes the beauty of the narrative, the amazing characterizations in the show, and the ability of the Writer and Producer Sonal A. Kakar to present sensitive social issues so well by layering it in the main plot.

Says Jayati about the show’s acceptance and appreciation, “I am happy that Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile is being liked by people. It is mostly because of the lovely story that we have. Although we have had stories of a daughter getting married into another family, the Aata Sata pratha has been talked about for the first time with this show. The beauty of this show is that every character is strong and equally important.”

The show has addressed complicated social issues very well in its main plot. Domestic abuse, medical facades and many more have been addressed so far. “My most favourite track in the show has been about the recent domestic abuse that was shown in the show. I strongly feel about it, and I feel it has resonated well with the audience. I also put up a video saying if anyone is going through this, please come out and talk about it. Such socially relevant stories spread awareness and inspire people to speak up. It is important to address problems within a family.”

As an actor, it is always important to showcase versatility. We need to choose our roles wisely and see to it that we erase memories of our old roles through our new ones.

Speaking about the protagonist in the show being a reporter, Jayati states, “Reet, the protagonist in the show, is an extremely strong reporter. My character of Sharda does not like Reet as she questions such issues a lot. When problems arise in a family, there has to be a person who questions it.”

On her strong character and its presence in the narrative, Jayati avers, “I have played many challenging characters in my career. I am thankful to our Producer and Writer Sonali A Kakar, for giving me such a different and strong character in Buaji. It is her vision as she saw me in such a different role. She told me that when she was writing this role, she had me in mind to play the role of Sharda. As an actor, it is always important to showcase versatility. We need to choose our roles wisely and see to it that we erase memories of our old roles through our new ones. Though the memories of me playing Mataji are tough to erase, my new role of Sharda Suryavanshi has managed to find prominence in the audiences’ minds. My hashtag #BuajiBavaal has also won praises.”

“Sharda Suryavanshi is quite a complex character. She is very genuine in her thought process but is manipulative in what she does. She is a responsible woman, but she wants to be the centre of attention. She needs all the power of the house. This is where she does not like Reet,” she adds.

I am proud to be part of a show like Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile: Jayati Bhatia 942075

Talking about the Aata Sata pratha that the narrative is based on, Jayati states, “Aata Sata pratha is all about two sets of brothers and sisters who are married to each other. There is a sister who likes her brother but likes herself more than anything else. You have a brother who forgets about his life and is ready to sacrifice for the sake of his sister. Amidst this is Sharda Bua who comes with her own intentions.”

She goes on to say, “The most exciting part is that the problems in these marriages are brought about mostly by Sharda Bua. Reet and Raghav’s understanding and bond is something that has developed with time. Otherwise, Dhruv and Unnati are immature. It is always a Tom & Jerry game between Sharda Bua and Reet.”

Talking about her co-actors, Jayati states, “When I saw Bharat Ahlawwat during narration, I liked him a lot. I have a strong bond with Raghav and Unnati. Working with Ayushi is nice, she is a professional actor. The youngsters in the show are very close to each other. As for me, I am still working on understanding these kids and knowing them well.”

As an actor, she is happy to be a part of the show. “I am proud of Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile. I had never thought that Sonal would tackle sensitive issues so well. We have got a good response. The topic of women’s empowerment was presented very well in the show. The audience like the show. The word of mouth is quite strong. When people call me ‘Expression Queen Sharda Bua’ I like it a lot. I have a unique rapport with Mata Rani, which is liked by all.”
