I believe Lord Shiva has chosen me to play Baal Shiv: Siddharth Arora

Siddharth Arora talks about his new show &TV’s Baal Shiv

Varanasi-lad Siddharth Arora, who essayed the role of Lord Krishna in the television series Krishna Kanahiya, has now donned the avatar of Shiva. He is seen playing the role of Mahadev in &TV’s latest offering Baal Shiv.

Baal Shiv depicts the mythical katha of the mother and son, Mahasati Anusuya and Baal Shiv, and their eternal bond. In conversation with IWMBuzz.com, Siddharth spoke about his character, challenges, and more.

How excited are you for your new show?

This character is extremely special because playing Mahadev is a blessing especially for me since I am a huge Shiva Bhakt. More than anything it feels like I am living the best experience of my life. The audience is liking my character and the show so far and I hope the love and admiration towards each of our characters grows in leaps and bounds in the coming year.

What made you take up the show and tell us something about your character?

I did not have a doubt in my mind about taking up the show since I believe Lord Shiva has chosen me for it. Since childhood, I have been worshiping Lord Shiva and today to be playing his character on the screen is my biggest blessing. Mahadev’s character portrayal in the show is something unseen and unheard-of till now. He will be seen full of compassion; a heart and a soul yet be powerful enough to save his people. Playing the character was a beautiful journey and I am glad the audience will experience it too.

What was the challenging part while getting into the skin of the character?

Getting into the skin of the character for such an intense role is extremely challenging and requires a great deal of research and preparation. For Mahadev’s character, I have been working on my physique, expressions, body language, dialogue delivery, voice modulation, and a lot of other things. In real life, I have also been trying to be more compassionate and doing pranayama to get into the skin of the character.

Are you spiritual in real life?

I am an ardent believer in Shiv Ji and believe all the things in life happen for a reason. I come from the land of Shiva, Varanasi. Right from childhood, my family and I have been involved in Shiv Bhakti and celebrated all the festivals related to Lord Shiva with enthusiasm. In fact, when I received an audition call for the role, I was praying to Lord Shiva for a break in the industry and this role happened. Lord Shiva has done wonders in my life and even today his blessings lie on me every day.

Why should the audience watch this show?

We have often heard stories about Lord Shiva, but no one knows about his childhood, his longing for motherly love, and why he came down to earth. The show is an answer to all these questions in the most interesting way. It is a beautiful depiction of a mother and son’s bond and learning about Shiv’s self-discovery.

When you were on a break, did you learn any new hobbies?

I have started up my own hotel in Varanasi. So, a lot of time I dedicated there and speaking about my hobby I gave more time to fitness and learned yoga. I also wrote a poem during Covid times on migrant workers.

Any final message?

I would like to thank the audience for giving us all the love and admiration and I request them to tune in and watch the beautiful story of Baal Shiv.
