I couldn’t have asked for a better comeback than Wagle Ki Duniya: Pariva Pranati

Pariva Pranati talks about Sony SAB show Wagle Ki Duniya

Sony SAB brought back the legendary yesteryear show Wagle Ki Duniya in a rather refreshing avatar. And actress Pariva Pranati returned to television after five years with the second season of the show as the lead Vandana.

Pariva and her actor-husband Puneet Sachdev were blessed with a baby boy four years ago, and she had fully committed to becoming a full-time mother. Before Wagle Ki Duniya, Pariva was seen in TV shows Badi Door Se Aaye Hai and Hamari Sister Didi.

Pariva got candid with IWMBuzz.com and shared her experience with the show, challenges, shoot during the pandemic, and more. Read on:

How has the journey been with the show so far? What pulled you the most towards this role?

One couldn’t have asked for a better show or a better team to work with. Be it the story, the actors, the producers, the direction team, or the channel, it’s one big happy family. There’s so much warmth and love here that I feel blessed to be a part of Wagle Ki Duniya. When I heard Wagle Ki Duniya was being made, it had my attention. Then JD sir (Majethia) called me for the show and told me about Vandana, her journey, and her characteristics. There was so much to her, so many shades, that’s what excited me the most to pick the role.

The show everyday teaches a new lesson, any specific moment that touched your heart or made you emotional?

Yes, the stories are beautiful, and I have personally felt connected to many such stories. Like the entire storyline around parenting your parents is something I absolutely connect to, also we recently did a story around a COVID warrior and that touched my heart as I have recently lost four people.

What has been the most challenging bit about Wagle Ki Duniya so far?

I would say churning out new entertaining stories and keeping up with the amount of hard work it requires on part of the entire team has been a challenge, but we take it positively.

You have been winning appreciation for your role, how does it feel?

Yes, I have been blessed with some amazing responses towards the portrayal of Vandana, and I couldn’t be happier. The fact that it’s achieving the purpose it was made for, to touch people’s lives, is heartening. There are so many fan messages and I can’t express my gratitude in words towards all the love being showered on me. When people say they want a daughter, wife, or mother like Vandana, my purpose of playing the character is achieved.

Your show Wagle has been immensely loved by the audience, do you think it has proved pivotal for your career?

Absolutely, every actor wants to do work that’s appreciated and loved. I am blessed to have become a part of Wagle Ki Duniya.

How is your rapport with your co-stars Sumeet Raghavan, Anjan Srivastav, Bharati Achrekar and the kids?

My rapport with the entire cast is amazing. We all are very connected but since we have been shooting in a bio bubble and are locked shooting in a resort, we all have grown even closer. Though Aanjjan ji and Bharati ji are not here for health and age-related precautions, the rest of us have been together for more than 45 days now and we all take care of each other. There’s a lot of masti on set too, a lot of leg-pulling, Sumeet keeps the unit in high spirits. I love Aanjjan Ji and Bharati Ji like my parents and the kids are my love. We are sometimes friends, sometimes siblings and at other times we pull each other’s legs and at times I mother them, specially Sheehan, because he is the youngest of us all. I also enjoy pampering him.

When you look back at your journey in the industry, how do you feel about it? Any regrets so far?

I have had a fun journey. I have taken up different kinds of projects which have been great. I have got the chance to work with some amazing people. No regrets especially when I took a break for motherhood, I couldn’t have asked for a better comeback than Wagle Ki Duniya.

How difficult is it to shoot away from the family during this pandemic?

It’s been a testing process, sometimes I miss them a lot, but at the same time, I do feel blessed to be working in these testing times. To add to it, having a great team definitely helps and JD sir is the most caring producer one could ask for.
