Mrunal Thakur opens up on her journey in Bollywood, here read to know

Mrunal Thakur, who was a popular television actress earlier, debuted with her first-ever Bollywood film Super 30 opposite Hrithik Roshan, and which eventually let her bag Jersey as a lead.

Talking about it she said, “I am happy that I realized that it is not the length of the role that matters, but how well you do a scene. Jersey director Gowtam Tinnanuri told me he wanted to cast me in his film after watching one scene of mine in Super 30,”

She added, “After I heard the Jersey story and watched the Telugu film, I wanted to do it. But I was not sure I could do it. I told the producer that I was having second thoughts as it did not seem easy. There is this one scene in the film where I slap Shahid Kapoor. I was quite apprehensive about that, because it was not a cheat shot. It was to be shot on the fourth or fifth day, but the producers cancelled it and allowed me three days to prepare,

Clarifying the way she works, she said, “I do not aim at success, but focus on the journey. When I started my career, I wanted to experience what it meant to be an actor.” She continued, “I was pursuing journalism and I wanted to be a crime journalist. I could not get that in real life, but I got the opportunity to play that on screen, in Dhamaka, and that too with Ram Madhvani, my dream director. So I made sure that it worked. There is a song Kya khoya kya paaya in the film — I think I learned and earned a lot by doing Dhamaka,” as quoted by Deccan Chronicle.
