Actor Akkshith Sukhija who was last seen as the lead of Star Plus’ Dil Ko Tumse Pyaar Hua, is happy that his acting profession has allowed him to showcase his dancing skills, which have gotten better with time.
Today, April 29th, we celebrate World Dance Day, a special occasion that honours the art of dance in its many forms. This vibrant expression not only serves as a channel for physical movement but also stands as a powerful means of achieving mental tranquillity. Through its intricate rhythms and expressive gestures, dance creates a unique language that transcends words, fostering deep connections and nurturing relationships among individuals. As people move together, they share emotions, stories, and experiences, forming bonds that bring them closer in a beautifully unspoken way.
Akkshith Sukhija can relate to this magic called dance. “I would rate myself 6 or 7 in dance. Honestly, I was 2 a few years back, but doing dance sequences one after the other in every show of mine gave me so much confidence. I used to think I couldn’t dance at all, but I was told by many choreographers that my body just needed practice. That’s how I got a little better with time.”
Talking about dance being a stress buster, Akkshith states, “For some, working out is a stress buster and for others, dance is a stress buster. For me, both count as a stress buster.”
Akkshith loves watching these forms of dance. “I enjoy seeing the hip-hop and lyrical dance. But if I talk about myself, I am good at Contemporary and Bollywood styles.”
Talking about the significance of dance, he avers, “Dance takes you to the other dimension of the world. You get lost in the art and rhythm of it. You are no more thinking about your day-to-day life, your body is just flowing with what you are hearing and every bit of your body is enjoying it. This is how it improves both our mental and physical health.”
Given this situation, Akkshith will learn this form of dance. “I would love to learn many other forms such as Hip Hop, Salsa, Lyrical, Locking & Popping.”
