Suman Indori has been dealing with a lot of relatable drama that has been engaging. How has the journey been for you so far?

Oh, it’s been a roller coaster of emotions, I would say. The journey has involved a lot of intense, high-voltage drama sequences, and I guess the audience is enjoying that. So, I am glad that all the hard work we are putting in is being appreciated.

A tough slot, an early evening slot of 6:30 PM for the show – has it ever affected your mindset while working?

Not really. In fact, we are leading the slot, and even in the early evening time, we are doing well and receiving a lot of love. So, at the end of the day, as an artist, you want to work on something that challenges you as an actor, pushing you to cross your boundaries and limitations. And about acknowledgement, I guess all the love you get from your fans is more than enough.

The viewers have been kept away from the pure romance of Teerth and Suman until now. What is your take on it?

Sabar ka phal meetha hota hai. But yes, I am sure now that they have been kept away from it when we eventually bring that track back, they will be really happy.

Talking about pressure, I don’t see it as pressure. I view it as motivation to always give my best in every shot and do justice to the character.

The entry of the kids has added a new vibe and energy to the story’s plot. How do you see it?

Well, yes, the new entries in the show, whether it’s Vikram, Rishi, or the fresh dynamic we’ve added to Suman’s character—from her background to her financial status to her career—everything has changed. She no longer runs a Chaat Bhandar; she’s a politician running to be the Chief Minister of Indore. So yes, it’s definitely interesting, and a lot of changes have been happening.

Talking about how it affects the energy and vibe, I would say that any story that gets a fresh start can have two outcomes: either the fans reject it, or they embrace it with all the warmth they had for the pre-leap story. And I guess the latter has happened, and I am really glad.

Suman Indori has been a special show for you, considering it is your first role as a lead. Does this add more pressure to the expectations set on you? How do you see it?

Yes, definitely. It’s a very special show because it’s my first show after my three-year-long break from ITV. Playing the titular role always comes with a lot of responsibility. Whether it was the shows I did back in the day as a child actor when I also carried the titular role or now that I have made a comeback playing Suman in Suman Indori.

Talking about pressure, I don’t see it as pressure. I view it as motivation to always give my best in every shot and do justice to the character. That’s how I see it. I feel there’s a huge responsibility on your shoulders, but that’s the fun, right? Even on days when you feel a little low, you always have this motivation that this is your show. You build a connection not just with your work but also with the team, and it becomes like a family. So yes, I am really happy, truly grateful, and feel blessed that I get to wake up every day and do something I love.

With acting and studies, how do you plan to take things forward now?

Well, I just graduated a few months ago—it hasn’t even been a year, actually—and after that, I started shooting for Suman Indori. As of now, I have taken a gap year because, academically, I was already a year ahead for my age. Moving forward, yes, pursuing a master’s degree is on the cards, but right now, I’m still doing my research, figuring out exactly what I want to do, and focusing on work simultaneously.
