Actor Mehul Kajaria, who is even today popular for his role in the evergreen TV show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, is elated about getting back to the Star Plus family with the new show Kabhi Neem Neem Kabhi Shahad Shahad. Produced by actor and Producer Prosenjit Chatterjee’s NIDEAS Creations and Productions, the show has Abrar Qazi and newcomer Afia Tayebali as leads.
Mehul will play the role of Harshvardhan Jindal, father to the male lead, played by Abrar Qazi. Mehul feels that this show allows him to complete a full circle in his fruitful career.
Says Mehul, “After playing the role of Harsh Virani for the Star Plus show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, I am back playing another Harsh, this time, in the role of Harshvardhan Jindal for the Star Plus show Kabhi Neem Neem Kabhi Shahad Shahad. I feel elated to be back in the Star Plus family after years, as Harsh.”
Talking about his character, Mehul tells us, “Harshvardhan Jindal is family-oriented and loves his son very much. He is a positive character but is quite complex. He has a back story, which I cannot talk about. The layers in his character will slowly unfold with time.”
Mehul who was recently seen in Doree and Kumkum Bhagya, has had a good body of work in recent years. He has played challenging roles in projects Na Umra Ki Seema Ho, Shubh Shagun, Scoop, and Farzi.
Mehul will also be seen in the Colors and Sphere Origins show Meri Bhavya Life soon. “Yes, I will be doing both the shows. But I am yet to start my shoot for the Colors show. As for the Star Plus show, I am happy to be a part of the big family. We have a great Director to guide us. All the co-actors are good.”
Ask him about the show being the Hindi adaptation of the successful Bengali show Kothha, and he says, “Yes, the show has been doing well on Star Jalsa. The idea is to tap at the hit formula again, as the probability of the show doing well is high. All the characters in Kabhi Neem Neem Kabhi Shahad Shahad are relatable. Nobody is right and nobody is fully wrong. The differences in the points of view of the elder generation and the younger generation are established and executed engagingly.”
Above all, Mehul has special praise for the acclaimed actor and Producer of the show, Prosenjit Chatterjee. “He is a very warm person. He is a huge Superstar in Bengal but is so unassuming about his personal success. He does not have any air of being from the rich film family. He is humble and meets every actor on the set with respect. This is his first show as Producer in the Hindi space, and I pray that the show rocks and garners laurels.”
Best of luck!!
