I get to learn a lot from Preeti in Chhalaang Sapno Ki: Alma Hussein 790947

Young actor Alma Hussein who enthralled the audience in the role of a doctor in Sony TV’s Dhadkan Zindagii Ki has come a long way when it comes to exploring her talent. She was later seen in Anupamaa. Now, the actress has picked up a meaty role in Sony TV’s Chhalaang.. Sapno Ki.

In an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz.com, Alma talks about her role and much more.

Tell us about your role in Chhalaang Sapno Ki?

Preeti is a very warm and a loving person. She is that person who smiles even though she is going through something. Preeti has a very different background and is going through some very rough things, yet she decides to smile and make others smile. She as a person is someone who cares about others more and wants everyone to be happy even though she’s hurting inside. Preeti has a very traumatic experience in life. The life experiences she has had is very painful and traumatic. So it was difficult for me to understand her perspective of life and be in her shoes.

What’s your take on this progressive concept?

Nilanjana ma’am and Herumb sir always come up with something different. As you know, earlier, I was a part of their previous show called Dhadkan Zindaggi Ki which was about doctors’ lives and their point of view.. whereas this show is about these girls who try to survive in a city like Mumbai, filled with competition. I believe this show is a very natural show and does not have any added drama. I’m glad to be part of this show.

What happened with Anupamaa? Why did you move out?

As I’ve mentioned before, it was a mutual decision between me and the production house. I was grateful to be a part of Anupama and will always be… the character Sara was very cheerful and it was lovely playing her. I moved out because there was no such progress in the character. I’m a young girl and I would love to explore more characters. Thankfully Rajan sir understood my point of view and we both decided to let go.

How is it to associate again with Nilanjana?

I’ve said it many times and I’ll say it again that Nilanjana ma’am has given me this identity. She trusted me before and she trusted me again with this beautiful character. It felt surreal when she called me for this role.. she has always been a person who guides me throughout… the kind of show Ma’am creates is something always so progressive and inspiring, being a part of her show again feels like a dream.

What are the kind of roles that attract you?

I would love to explore different characters. Playing a character who is not like me is something that excites me the most. Living a life of a different person and seeing the world according to their point of view is something that I always want to do. I am a young girl and at this point I want to play as many characters as I can to learn and become better at my job.

What will be your takeaway from this role?

Preeti and I have a totally different background. She has family issues and many other issues whereas I’ve had a very supportive family. Preeti has a layer of different emotions and that is a very challenging role itself. I get to learn a lot from Preeti, the way she is going through so much trauma but yet she decides to smile. She is that warm person who is always spreading happiness.

What are your expectations from this role?

Preeti has a completely mysterious secret and a background which keeps her story very interesting. I hope people like her and seek help if they are going through anything what Preeti is going through.
