Sangeita Chauhan is the perfect example of ‘beauty with brains’. Not only is she good looking, but also possesses immense acting prowess and can get into the skin of a character with great aplomb.
In her debut show the girl made clear indications to her versatility. Sangeita, who is popularly known as Meghna from Colors’ popular show Swabhimaan, is a household name.
In an exclusive conversation with IndianWikiMedia, Sangeita talks about her journey in the show, controversies, co-stars and more.
Talking about her experience in the show, she shared, “It is a very good experience. I should rather say a learning experience. It has been life turning too as I have developed as an individual also. I have been used to the routine too which I would have never been adapted to. After taking the show, many things have changed.”
When asked Sangeita on how she bagged the show, she averred, “I did two movies and post that I wanted to focus on them. TV was never my agenda. It so happened that I was in Mumbai and I got a call from Rajshri. As a kid, I have grown up watching their movies so somewhere in my heart I really wanted to work with them. Of course, I wanted to do a movie with them; but I am doing a show and I am equally blessed. I went and auditioned for Meghna, Naina and Piya Albela lead role Pooja. However, they liked me in Meghna’s role and here I am doing the show.”
Sangeita is extremely happy with the love she is being showered with. “I feel blessed and grateful to everyone. I am thankful to all my fans who watch our shows religiously. We started with 1.8 TRP and have also achieved 2.4 TRP. Now, we are at 1.7 which is constant. I am extremely lucky and I think it was a good decision.”
The lovely lady was an avid watcher of Colors channel, and talking about the same, she said, “Before the movies, I used to watch the shows. Colors channel was always on my list. I used to follow Balika Vadhu and Sasural Simar Ka. Later, I got on with the movies and now I am busy with the show. I don’t get time to watch my show but sometimes I try to watch it on Voot. I feel it was in my destiny to do a Colors show.”
Sangeita’s personal life was in news and she was also rumoured to be dating co-star Sahil Uppal. When asked whether controversies affect her, she quipped, “I never got affected with controversies. Rumours are rumours. People will say what they want to. However, we are aware about the reality. If you are clear in your head and about people around you, and if you are honest and real, nothing can affect you.”
Sharing about her bond with her on-screen sister Ankita Sharma, she said, “We are like off-screen sisters. If we don’t shoot together for a long period of time, we start missing each other. We never had any issues. There are differences of opinions but we understand each other.”
Finally, Sangeita revealed her favourite actor and actress on TV. “I love Jennifer Winget. She is amazing. I have a lot of male actors who are my favourites but Shabir Ahluwalia is fabulous. I really like his work. I would love to work with him in future,” ended the beautiful actress.
