I have no problem in getting typecast as I know that I will break that image someday: Ayush Anand

Ayush Anand who will be seen in Star Plus' Banni Chow Home Delivery gets into an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz.com

Ayush Anand will soon be back on the TV space with an extremely challenging role to play in Star Plus’ upcoming show Banni Chow Home Delivery, produced by Shashi Sumeet Productions. Ayush is happy that he gets to test the waters of the genre of comedy with this never-seen-before avatar of his.

In a candid chat with IWMBuzz.com, Ayush talks about the role, his career graph and much more.

Excerpts:

Tell us about your role in Banni Chow Home Delivery?

Without revealing too much I can say that the role has many shades. It’s grey but also has a comic touch to it which is very new for me. Let’s see how the audience responds.

Hear this too is a negative role, are you fine with the fact that you are being typecast into playing negative?

I believe that’s how the industry functions. But I don’t have a problem in getting typecast as I know I will break that image someday. Having said that I don’t like the word negative. Every person is grey in real life with some positive and some negative qualities. So yes, I do play a grey character once again but this time there is a comic touch to it which is very new and challenging for me.

How do you see your career graph? What have been your plusses?

I don’t analyse my career. When I came to Mumbai, I started as a junior artist in a show called Qubool Hai because I was ready to take up anything respectable to start my career. Then I got to play a small character in Jodha Akbar, then a more prominent one in Ishqbaaz and my first lead with Perfect Pati. So if I think and tell you about today, then I only take up roles that challenge me as an actor. I take my work as a stepping stone towards my goal which is the big screen.

Are you also looking at the web for newer dimensions? What are the kind of roles that impress you?

I have already done two web shows. Gum Ho Jaayen for DigiflixTV which is already out and an upcoming series ‘Hasratein’ for Hungama Play. In both the series I have played the positive leader.

As I said, I only take up roles that challenge me as an actor, so positive, negative, and grey does not matter. The role should be such that gives me butterflies in my stomach a night before the shoot. Having said that, my dream role would be Ved from Tamasha or even Devdas for that matter. I would like to play complex characters.

Do you believe in having a profession other than acting. Have you thought about it?

To each to its own. There is no harm in having more avenues of income. But as far as profession is concerned, there is nothing apart from acting that interests me and gives me more creative fulfilment. I was born to act.
