I have taken a conscious decision of taking a breather: Digangana Suryavanshi

Digangana talks about her Indonesian sojourn and return to Indian television and more…

Digangana ‘Veera’ Suryavanshi , last seen in Bigg Boss, is currently shooting for a live show in Indonesia. The young lady is elated with the experience as she shares with Indianwikimedia. “We focus on the keeping and breaking of roza during the holy month of Ramadan.  Being live I really have to be on my toes, and plus since the language is Bahai (local language), the creative explains to me on ear piece what the words mean before I say them out.  So I really have to be alert and be quick to incorporate the meaning before saying them out again with correct emotions.  Also being a quasi religious show, I need to be that much more careful keeping the sentiments in mind.”

Looking ahead Digangana is also toying with the idea of doing a limited series fiction show there as well.   “We Indian TV actors are very much loved over there.  I was pleasantly surprised with the information my Indonesian fans knew about me.”

This trend was first started by Shaheer Sheikh who did movies and TV shows in this huge Southeast Asian nation.

“The best part of shooting and living in Indonesia is that the culture is similar to back home, we both value our parents and traditions. Having said that even they are quite smitten by western styles.  So in a way I feel like home away from home.”

Furthermore, Digangana has been away from Indian television ever since her above Colors reality show ended, “I have taken a conscious decision of taking a breather, I have my reasons which I don’t wish to divulge as of now.”

So is she not scared of ‘out of sight is out of mind’ syndrome which afflicts many TV actors?
“No, I am ready to take that risk, also I have age on my side.  It is not that I am 30 that will not get lead roles again,” says this teenager who began her acting career as a child artist with Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat.

Like other TV starlets Digangana too has big screen dreams. “But I don’t actively pursue cine projects, if it comes so be it.”

Here she denies that she is staying away from desi TV to prevent overexposure from affecting her  possible B-Town dreams.   She was first noticed as Nuzhat in Qubool Hai before playing the lead role in  Veera which made her a household name.

Digangana, who is also a singer and writer, says something soon might be on the anvil there as well, “I am taking a break and recharging my creative batteries.  Rest assured will be back with a bang soon.”

In closing, she assures her fans that her Indonesian sojourn is not for long, “I will be home soon and on your telly as well. So wait for me till then.”
