Pocket Mein Aasman actor Paras Madaan, who has charmed audiences with his performances across television, recently shared his deep love for reading and how one particular book has profoundly shaped his outlook on life. On the occasion of World Book Day, Paras opened up about the titles that have impacted him and his relationship with books.
He says, “One book that has had a profound impact on my life is The Secret by Rhonda Byrne,” he said. “This self-help book offers valuable insights into the law of attraction and the power of positive thinking. I appreciate how it encourages readers to focus on their thoughts and emotions to manifest their desires.”
For Paras, The Secret is more than just a one-time read. “Its principles have stuck with me, and I find myself revisiting it whenever I need a reminder about the importance of gratitude and positivity,” he shared.
When asked to rate himself as a book reader, Paras humbly said, “I would say I am a mindful reader. I may not devour books daily, but when I do pick one up, I absorb it deeply. I like books that have the power to change perspectives.”
As for the kind of books that attract him, it’s clear he leans toward those with meaningful messages. “I am drawn to motivational and self-help books. I feel these books speak directly to the soul and often come with timeless lessons that help you grow.”
He believes The Secret is that one book that has truly changed his perspective. “It taught me how your thoughts shape your reality. That was a game-changer for me.”
And if he could inspire young minds to develop the habit of reading? “I would say start with one book that excites you—maybe something inspiring or fun. Reading is not just a habit; it’s an experience that opens your mind, builds focus, and gives you a quiet kind of confidence.”
Asked whether there’s any book he’d love to see adapted into a TV show or a film, Paras said, “The Secret again! I think if its core ideas were brought to life in a well-written series or movie, it could be truly powerful and reach an even wider audience.”
When it comes to celebrating World Book Day, Paras has a light-hearted take. “How about a themed book exchange party with friends where everyone brings a book that changed their life? Add some fun discussions, favourite quotes, and coffee—and you have got a perfect World Book Day celebration!”
