Actress Shalini Chandran who was last seen on television in Prachhand Ashok on Colors in the role of Rani Dharma, will stage her entry in Zee TV’s newly launched show Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile which is produced by Rose Audio Visuals, creatively helmed by Sonnal Kakar. Shalini will be introduced as a progressive lady by the name of Neeta, who will be the mother of Raghav Suryavanshi and Unnati. However, destiny has separated Neeta from her kids during their childhood. Raghav (Bharat Ahlawwat) harbours hatred and resentment towards his mother.
We at IWMBuzz.com spoke to Shalini who is excited about her entry into the show.
Says Shalini, “Neeta is shown as a sophisticated, progressive woman who works for NGOs. She is ambitious and good-hearted, at the same time, disturbed in a way. It is a very interesting character to play for me considering that I have never played one such in my career till now.”
On the turbulences her character will bring to the plot, Shalini says, “Her absence in her children’s life has grown over the years, causing a trauma in the minds of her kids Raghav and Unnati. The story ahead will see how these traumatic feelings and misunderstandings will be dealt with.”
Talking about her character, she states, “The character has a lot of motherly instincts, which struck a chord with me. Though I am not a mother in real life, I wanted to play this character. There are times when roles affect you at a personal level. I am discovering the layers within me as I play this role. Whatever I have shot till now, seems really interesting.”
“The most endearing part about this character is that though she is filled with motherly instincts, her agony is that she is not connected to her own children,” adds the actress.
On the show, Shalini avers, “Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile has a very good story and the characters have been written well. The bond shown between the siblings is beautiful. The character of Reet is strong and empowered. We need to see such empowered females and their stories. This show delivers to the viewers just that.”
Best of luck!!
