Talented and beautiful Shireen Mirza, who rose to fame with her role Simmi in Star Plus show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, is currently seen playing the negative character of Kaamna in Star Bharat new offering Bohot Pyaar Karte Hai.
The actress plays lead Ritesh Malhotra’s (Karan V Grover) maasi. When asked if she was skeptical to take up the role, she said, “Initially, I was skeptical. I was thinking about whether I should take up this role or not. However, when I spoke to the writers and creators, they explained to me the character and its importance. They gave justification on why I should choose it. I am playing step maasi of Ritesh. Kaamna ends up marrying her brother-in-law and that’s how she gets connected with Ritesh. They have not shown me old. After learning about the growth of the role, I got easily convinced and came on board.”
Shireen revealed her thoughts on fans’ hate comments. She added, “When I did my previous show where my character turned negative, I was nervous. In real life, it is very difficult for me to scream at someone. I am not that kind of a person. However, I still took up the challenge. Initially, fans’ hate comments bothered me. Eventually, I understood that I am doing a good job hence I am getting such kind of comments. Here I am playing a negative role and looking forward to it.”
Talking about a myth about actors, she said, “People feel that our work is very easy. We just have fun. However, that is not the case. We have to take out time for sleep also so it is not that easy.”
