The young and talented actress Rachana Mistry, who has earlier entertained the masses in shows like Barrister Babu, Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, and Dastaan-E-Mohabbat Salim Anarkali, has bagged her first lead role. The diva is currently seen as Vidhi in Star Bharat’s latest show Na Umra Ki Seema Ho opposite Iqbal Khan.
The show revolves around Vidhi and Dev. Vidhi hails from a simple family and is extremely clumsy with a forgetful nature. Dev is a middle-aged unmarried businessman, who is entirely devoted to his family. The story challenges society’s stereotypical mindset that views the age difference between two lovers as a source of concern.
Talking about her new show, the actress said, “We are bringing something different in front of the audience. The special thing is that we are breaking the stereotypical mindset via our story. As soon as viewers start watching the show, they will be glued to their screen. It is interesting as well as inspiring.”
Elaborating more on her character, she added, “When I first saw the character graph, I read a line ‘Vidhi bahut khoyi khoyi si ladki hai, raste bhi bhul jaati hai. I instantly connected with it. In real life, I also get lost when I go to new places. I could relate to the character and hence I wanted to do the show. I felt that I can portray this role with ease. Having said that, there are a lot of characteristics that Vidhi has but I don’t. The similarities between me and my character were one of the reasons why I opted for this daily.”
When asked about her working experience with Iqbal Khan, she mentioned, “When I met Iqbal sir for the first time on sets I was star-struck by his personality. I have always adored him as an actor and when I got a chance to be paired opposite him I was very excited to work with him. He is very hard working and there’s so much to learn from him. He is a gem of a person who always helps me and makes me very comfortable on sets. He guides me wherever I get stuck and that’s what I respect the most about him. I am looking forward to this pairing and I hope the viewers too will love us.”
Good luck Rachana!
