Talented actress Tasnim Sheikh who made a stunning return to TV in the role of Ruqaiya Begum in Colors’ historical love tale Dastaan-E-Mohabbat: Salim Anarkali produced by Anirudh Pathak’s banner Writers’ Galaxy is a tad bit disappointed with the unfortunate and abrupt ending of the show.

Says Tasnim, “Honestly speaking, we actors were not officially informed about anything. We suddenly got to know of the time getting shifted. Later we were informed via a message about the show going off air. It was very disheartening to receive the message on the very first day of the New Year (1 January). The show had huge potential; it was such an expensive show and a beautiful looking one too. It is very sad that it has been pulled off air. I feel bad for the Producers. This was one show where all actors were totally in sync and bonded well. We all wanted to be together for the longest time possible. We looked forward to be with each other. It was so much fun with the girls. It is so sad that we will not be together anymore.”

Tasnim who was on a New Year break with her family in Goa when she got the unfortunate news, has taken the development in her stride. “As a person I am very positive. I see the brighter side of life. So nothing shocks me or bothers me. I did a historical show, a genre which I did not want to be part of. I wish my Producers all the very best and hope they come up with something big as this in future.”

On the positives coming out of this experience, the actress who has a vast body of work says, “I had never done a historical or a mythological show before. Amitabh Raina (who was in the team earlier) was the one who pushed me to do this role. It was a fantastic show. I wish it had at least lived the life it was meant to have, for a year. I am feeling bad, but not to the extent of feeling depressed about it. The best part was that it had a beautiful team.”

On the immediate plans, she says, “I am working on myself now. Whenever I am not doing anything, I simply invest the time on myself. The idea is to mentally prepare for something new. I have put in my diet plans. I am enjoying my personal life at home. I am giving time to my child and husband.”

All the very best, Tasnim!!
