Anchor cum comedian Sohit Vijay Soni, who is known for his roles in shows like Bhabhiji Ghar Par hai, May I Come In Madam, Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi and Diya Aur Baati Hum, wants a platform to showcase his talent.
“I have been part of many comedy shows and they have given me immense popularity in the industry but I want a perfect platform to showcase my talent. I wish to host a show like Kapil Sharma so that I can make my name in the genre. I have been blessed and thankful to this industry which has welcomed me with open arms,” says Sohit to IndianWikiMedia.
The thespian is currently playing the character of Mani in SAB TV’s Tenali Rama.
Talking about his journey in the industry he shares, “I am from Haryana. I used to work in a hospital as an assistant to a doctor. I used to also anchor events in Gurgaon at the same time. Later, I learnt about a show called Comedybaaz and I auditioned for it. I also got selected for it and came to Mumbai. My first break on Indian television was with Tu Mera Hero on Star Plus. Then I started getting offers and I did Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, Diya Aur Baati Hum, Bhabhiji Ghar Par hai and May I Come In Madam.”
He continues, “I don’t have a godfather in this industry but I am really thankful to Vikas Giri and Surendra, who have helped me when I was struggling in the industry. I am really thankful to Shashank Bali too as he has been a great mentor and support. I really miss shooting for Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai with him.”
When we ask him about his aspiration as an actor, he avers, “I am happy that audience is loving my character Mani in Tenali Rama. I want to give more variation to the character and own it. My ultimate aim is do a movie with Rohit Shetty and I am trying my luck.”
