Talented actor Siddharth Nigam is on Cloud Nine with his recently launched show Aladdin – Naam Toh Suna Hoga on SAB TV opening to huge numbers. Playing the titular role of Aladdin, Siddharth looks the best and has already won many hearts.

Says thw actor, “It feels good to receive so many compliments. Yes, we have put in a lot of hard work into the show. But none of us expected this huge opening rating. We were thrilled to tell you the fact.”

Talking about the concept and the USP of the show, Nigam states, “The best part about Aladdin is that there is no slapstick comedy in it. We have kept it so real; the dialogues are so very interesting, genuine yet comic.”

Siddharth Nigam who has given splendid performances on TV in shows Mahakumbh, Chakravarthin Ashoka Samrat, Peshwa Bajirao, Chandra Nandini etc claims that for the first time in his acting career, he has had to put in a lot of energy to play Aladdin. “Every scene of mine in the show needs energy. I have put in a lot of hard work here. For the first time, I attended a workshop to get into the skin of the character. Mann Sir was fabulous and taught me the nuances to be confident. I am glad that my Producers, channel, Director and my parents and brother believed that I can carry the role well.”

Siddharth Nigam is a gymnast and his abilities being a gymnast actually comes handy while playing the role. “I get my quickness and timing from my gymnastic abilities. Above all, I always work out come what may. So my body is in great shape. I have the sportsman spirit running in my blood. So all these aspects help me play the role better. And to tell you, I have performed all the action scenes myself. From the very small shots to the big action sequences, including the ones on harness, I have shot for them.”

Nigam is a huge fan of Jackie Chan and has incorporated Chan’s characteristic moves and action displays in his sequences. “Only I know my capabilities while performing stunts. So I have taken the effort to see many videos of Jackie Chan. I have seen the best of action movies. I have choreographed and designed my action style based on my characteristics. Being a gymnast, quickness comes naturally to me.”

The biggest lesson that Nigam has learnt has been from the great actor Aamir Khan while shooting for the movie, Dhoom 3. “Aamir Sir had told me to be as natural as possible. He had told me to put myself in the situation the character is in, and then perform. This learning has been really impactful and I remember this every time I set foot to act.”

The young lad is happy to have got a great set of co-actors and production crew. “It is a big family and we always mingle with utmost positivity. We actors revise our scenes and add our own dialogues. We improvise from time to time; our positivity and energy is what you see on screen.”

Talking about his Producers Alind Srivastava and Nissar Parvez (Peninsula Pictures), he says, “They are very sweet, extremely supportive. They are very happy with the TRP and we aim to sustain and grow. Alind Sir immediately threw a party for the whole unit and we rejoiced the moment.”

Ask him about his chemistry with Avneet Kaur and Nigam states, “We understand and support each other a lot. We have a great bonding, having worked earlier in Chandra Nandini. Viewers will now see the cute romance between Aladdin and Yasmin which will be very interesting.”

Last but not the least, remind Nigam that he is now competing with the biggies Amitabh Bachchan (Kaun Banega Crorepati on Sony TV) and Salman Khan (Bigg Boss on Colors) at the same time slot, and he states, “Oh, nobody can compete with them. There is no competition as they are legends. I can only learn from them. But yes, people who love our show will certainly watch our show.”

Way to go, Siddharth!! Enjoy your Aladdin journey
