Dapper looking dude Abhishek Malik is quite excited about his latest entry in popular, Star Plus show Ye Hai Mohabbatein .
“After doing MTV (Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan) and & TV show (Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi) for a while I wanted to return to mainstream GEC ( He had debuted with Chhal-Sheh Aur Maat on Colors and had also featured in Zee TV’s Punar Vivah – Ek Nayi Umeed).
Talking about his character, this Delhi model turned actor says, “Aliya’s (Krishna Mukherjee) love interest Rohan is a very sweet guy who loves her no end. They might tie the knot soon.”
So will your character turn negative, as you have made a mark as a baddie?, “I have no inclinations about the same so far. But yes a lot about him is still unknown.”
What do you feel about YHM? “This huge brand has survived for five long years, no mean task. The best part of YHM is that every actor (especially Divyanka Tripathi) is so natural that it does not seem that they are emoting their characters.”
Here Abhishek adds, “I am under no illusions that I am the hero; Karan Patel’s character will always call the shots. But having said this, the creative team has promised me that Rohan will also have lots to say and do.”
Just prior to entering YHM, he had also done an episodic cameo in Kaun Hai (Colors).
“One more reason for saying yes to this project was the opportunity to work with Balaji Telefilms. Doing strong roles with bigger channels and production houses is better than risking a lead with smaller channels/new PH ‘s which might shut shop in quick time, as it has happened quite often in the near term.”
But we have heard that YHM might also shut shop by the year end? “The team has asked me not to believe in such rumours which keep surfacing from time to time. I have entered with a positive frame of mind. We are working very hard and I am sure that the YHM flag will keep flying high.”
Way to go, Abhishek!!
