I light-heartedly flirt with Shuklaji: Megha Chakraborty

Megha Chakraborty is quite happy with the recent rise in rating of her Star Plus show, Krishna Chali London. “We all have worked very hard and are glad that the numbers have risen.”

Coming to her character, Megha says, “It is a challenge to play Krishna, given her various shades. At times, she needs to be stern. Like you know how we have to deal with situations in our families when we need to get what we want, without hurting the feelings of our elders.”

Here, she accepted that her Krishna won’t leave for London any time soon. “She was about to go, but some issues happened at home. Let’s face it, we will milk the current good ratings track for a while.”

“Being a positive unit, rather than getting perturbed about the low numbers at the start, we really worked on the script, trying to add more masala, avoiding any boring moments and yes, trying to make all our characters endearing. All these myriad experiments finally clicked.”

Asked about her off screen equation with her co-star, she says, “We all get along very well. In fact, I jokingly flirt with Bhagwan Tiwari, who plays my bête noir, i.e. father-in-law, Shuklaji, saying, I would prefer going to London with him, rather than with his son, Radhe (Gaurav Sareen).”

She does not think that having an age difference with Gaurav will affect their on screen chemistry. “At first, he would get angry when I said that things won’t out on screen due to age difference. But all is fine and we have no problems getting romantic on screen.”
