Talented actor Anirudh Dave finds the current coronavirus lockdown situation unprecedented, “Forget India, the whole world is sitting at home. I don’t think humanity has ever seen such a situation in a very long time. Forget m,e even my parents find it new.”
Talking about the implication, he says, “The daily wage earners will be the hardest hit, I wonder what they will eat for the next 21 days? And in such a depressing scenario when you see people roaming around your blood pressure hits the roof. They don’t seem to realize the gravity of the situation. Aping them others too might violate the lockdown norms, thereby spreading the virus.” says Anirudh, who has given several hit shows like Mera Naam Karegi Roshan, Phulwa, and Y.A.R.O Ka Tashan, etc.
How have you been impacted by the lockdown?
“ Well, my past payments will now be delayed. My home web show, which was supposed to go on the floor, has been put on hold. Something similar is happening with my two other web series where I am acting. My Bollywood dream debut is also on hold. Hoping to move to the cinema, I had stayed away from the TV, so even that active income got hit.” His last TV show was Patiala Babes on Sony.
“However, all these difficulties notwithstanding, the current period can also be viewed as stress-free. There is no mad rush to get anywhere (shooting, dubbing meetings). Also, you are not expecting anyone. My doorbell has not rung for five days. I just relax, eat, watch movies, exercise, or have a quick afternoon and evening siesta.”
