Initially, I said no to Pishachini: Harsh Rajput

Harsh Rajput talks about his new show Pishachini

Handsome hunk Harsh Rajput, who is known for his amazing performances in shows like Hitler Didi, Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, Janbaaz Sindbad, and Nazar, is all set to entertain the masses as the lead Rakshit a.k.a. Rocky in the new show Pishachini on Colors.

Talking about the show, he said, “When I was offered the project, I immediately said no. I was told that it is a supernatural drama and I assumed I am going to play a supernatural character. Hence, I refused to do the daily. Then the makers called and gave me a proper brief about the role. They told me that my character won’t possess any superpowers. After reading the character brief, I soon realized that I have never essayed such a role. Rakshit is a carefree boy who does not believe in supernatural powers but in only having a good life. He has multiple shades. I was convinced and came onboard. Now, talking about the supernatural genre. Yes, I have been part of such a genre earlier. Having said that, this kind of genre has an interesting storyline which attracted me towards the daily.”

Further revealing the challenges faced while getting into the skin of the character, he shared, “I have put on 7kg of muscles for this role. I was lean earlier. For the same, I had to eat a lot. It was difficult as I am not a foodie. I am not choosy about food. I am just grateful that I am getting good food to eat.”

Commenting on his working experience with Nyrraa M Banerji and Jiya Shankar, Harsh mentioned, “Nyrraa and Jiya are wonderful actresses to work with. Usually when you sign up for a show, slowly and steadily, your bond gets formed with your co-stars. However, we immediately bonded and since day one we have had an amazing rapport.”

When asked if he believes there are ghosts, he quipped, “I believe ‘jahan bhagwan hai, wahan shaitaan hai’. I believe in energies rather than ghosts. I think there are positive and negative energies. When I was in the hostel, I experienced one such incident. I felt as if someone was sitting on me. I was scared and started reciting Hanuman Chalisa. And I felt fine. I don’t know what the experience was but it was quite scary.”

Good luck Harsh!
