It is a challenge to be negative for love: Sapna Thakur on her role in Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti

Sapna Thakur who plays the negative lead and the other woman in Zee TV’s Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti gets into a conversation.

Sapna Thakur who plays the negative lead of Samaira in Zee TV’s Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti (Arvind Babbal Productions) is simply enjoying herself in the role.

We got to talk to Sapna who fortunately got off for few days and she is now with her family in Chandigarh.

Says Sapna, “This is a pleasant break that I got from the show. The story is going well. There are a lot of challenges playing the role. Also, the track is getting interesting with every passing day.”

Sapna who has been part of shows Gathbandhan, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, etc has always played negative roles. But she sees this role to be different. “In Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti, I am negative for love. I have fallen for another girl’s husband and this makes it all the more interesting. I have positive as well as negative shades to portray. I am positive as I am totally in love with Kuldeep. At the same time, I have negative shades as I am adamant to have him for myself.”

“As Sapna, I am very different from Samaira. For Samaira, I need to put on a very different attitude, body language etc. She is a sophisticated business tycoon too, so needs to be classy all the time.”

Sapna loves being with the cast, Siddhaanth Vir Surryavanshi and Neha Marda. “I have a lot of scenes with Siddhaanth and he is very good. With Neha, my scenes are coming out more now. She is a very good performer and a human being.”

Sapna is happy that she is contributing to the show and track and senses it with the kind of feedback she has been getting from fans. “I am getting messages where people ask me not to do such things to Shubra, and ask me to move away from Kuldeep’s life. So I guess I am doing certain things in the right way (smiles).

“The fight for the man and love will go on and will be interesting with the new tracks coming in. There is a purpose behind which Samaira is going. The writing team and creatives are working hard on the tracks to come. So let us see.”

Sapna tells us that since many episodes of the show had been shot before the COVID break, the team could not cash in on the response got from viewers. “Now, we are adding a lot of scenes to the already pre-shot scenes. The new tracks to come will surely do well. The biggest challenge of course is that we are placed at the slot where Anupamaa is (laughs). But we are not doing really bad. We are trying our best.”
