Shagun Pandey, the young and talented actor, who was seen in Tujhse Hai Raabta is currently entertaining masses as Meeta Ahlawat in Zee TV’s new show Meet. His character Meet is a rich Haryanvi boy who is not rigid about gender roles and has no issues with women working or men helping out at home. But he does believe that women should look a certain way and it’s a man’s responsibility to primarily provide in a household.
Talking about the show, he shares, “I feel blessed to be part of this show. The makers have brought an amazing daily for the audiences. They are constantly working on the story which gives me a lot of scope to perform and entertain my viewers. The only challenge I believe I have is to entertain my audience and leave an impression.”
Shagun feels his show conveys a strong message to society: “Meet questions about gender roles and break archaic stereotypes. A vast majority of families only see the sons of their house as the ghar ka chirag. Whereas females are multitaskers. They do all the jobs, handle the family independently. With this show, I believe we will be able to make people rethink their views when it comes to what is appropriate or inappropriate for a woman, what she should do or not do. Also, there is light-hearted entertainment which makes the show a complete entertainer.”
Commenting on his working experience with the team, he adds, “It has been amazing to work with the team. I feel the most talented and brilliant artists of the industry have been cast on the show. Hence, it makes my job easier. Ashi Singh is known for her strong craft and whereas the senior and other actors on the show are potentially strong and talented.”
