It is great fun being around Dheeraj Dhoopar and Surbhi Chandna in Sherdil Shergill: Sushmita Banik

Sushmita Banik talks about her role in Sherdil Shergill.

Sushmita Banik who has recently entered the Colors show Sherdil Shergill in the role of Anisha is enjoying her stint. She is the love interest of Rajkumar Yadav, and is about to wed him. The lead role of Raj is played by Dheeraj Dhoopar. Surbhi Chandna plays Manmeet the female lead on the show.

Says Sushmita, “This role is superb. I have bagged exciting roles so far in my career. This one of Anisha’s is again very nicely etched. She is a girl who dislikes lies. Raj who is paired with Anisha in the show, has been lying a lot about his closeness with Manmeet. So when Anisha will get to know of it, the viewers will have an interesting watch.”

“It will be exciting to see how Anisha will react to all that she has seen in her life. This love triangle will make for a good watch. As of now, Raj and Anisha’s engagement and wedding are supposed to happen. Now viewers will get to see a lot of drama,” says Sushmita.

Sushmita who has featured in shows Ishq Mein Marjawan 2, Janani etc, is happy to have bagged this challenging role. She gels well with Dheeraj Dhoopar and Surbhi Chandna. “Most of my scenes are with Raj and Manmeet. So it is great fun being around with Dheeraj and Surbhi.”

Ask her what viewers can expect now, and she says, “The manner in which Anisha will react to the truth now will be interesting to see.”

On the possibility of this being a continuous character, Sushmita states, “Yes, this will be a long role, which will be seen for nearly 5 to 6 months.”

Talking about Anisha, Banik avers, “She is a today’s girl. Anisha looks at transparency in a relationship and that is what matters to her. She is not upset when she spots her boy with another girl provided there is clarity in thought. She deals with her life in her own way. Otherwise, she is a confident and smart girl.”

Ask her if there are any chances of Anisha turning grey, and she answers, “Not yet. But you never know.”

Best of luck, Sushmita!!
