It’s a huge responsibility and challenge to play Naren in Piyaa Albela: Akshay Mhatre

Akshay Mhatre feels glad to be a part of Piyaa Albela.

Akshay Mhatre is an evolved actor. His performances on screen trigger the right emotions among audiences.

A popular and regular face in the TV industry, Akshay is currently seen as protagonist (Naren) in Piyaa Albela (Zee TV and Sooraj Barjatya).

“I started preparing for my part almost eight months prior to the show’s launch. The role demanded me to ride a bike and being comfortable with animals. I had to get into the skin of the character. Thus, preparation was necessary,” says Akshay.

The thespian further states that he is glad to have been working with Sooraj Barjatya who he says is a ‘gem of a person’.

“Sooraj ji waited for eight years to tell the story of Piyaa Albela. It’s his dream project. Thus, it’s a huge responsibility for us to give our best and I am happy that the response has been good.”

One always looks for certain inspiration and role model to soak in some experience from past work, but Akshay says that he had none for Piyaa Albela.

“I was seeking some inspiration which was difficult to find. The story of modern age Menaka and Vishwamitra is unique and never told before on small screen. Still I referred to few books of Swami Vivekanand to gain some impetus in thought and action.”

On a closing note, Akshay tells that there is no major difference in the workings of the Hindi and Marathi television industry, it’s just that Hindi has a larger audience.

We wish him all the best!!!
